Pete Lincoln

Pete Lincoln: Frontman, singer, songwriter, guitar player, “human juke box” . . . he has many labels. Born on 15th March 1956 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the North East of England, Pete grew up in the 60s with a passionate obsession for music. His career path was never in doubt, starting on piano aged 8, and picking up the guitar at the age of 11 . . . and he pretty much hasn’t put it down since!

Pete spent the 80s and the 90s touring and recording with a wide range of artists including Sir Cliff Richard (where he first worked with future FRONTM3N colleagues Peter Howarth and Mick Wilson), Tina Turner, Shakin' Stevens and many more, travelling to all corners of the globe from New Zealand to Greenland. From 1996 to 2005, Pete enjoyed his time as frontman for the 70s band Sailor – most famous for their hits Glass Of Champagne & Girls, Girls, Girls.

In 2005 Pete joined Glam Rockers The Sweet, fronting the band for founder member Andy Scott. During the ensuing 12 years, Pete toured and recorded extensively with the band, making legions of new fans along the way. During this period, Pete also released a long overdue solo CD entitled Soul Searching in 2013, followed by a second album, Heartbeat in 2016.

Throughout his career Pete has always enjoyed the challenge of solo live shows, with just guitar and voice, performing tracks from his solo albums, and taking a wide range of cover requests from the audience, earning him the 'human jukebox' nickname. In 2016, along with former colleagues Peter Haworth (Hollies) and Mick Wilson (10cc), Pete launched the FRONTM3N project. So far, the boys have toured extensively in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, winning audiences everywhere with their combined vocal talents and stunning arrangements of songs both classic and original. Their first studio album, All For One, garnered great reviews, as did the follow-up live DVD package of their 2019-2020 Up Close tour.

Pete’s adventure began again in the summer of 2021 as he embarked on a brand new journey as the lead vocalist of Smokie. Pete and the band are the oldest of friends having shared many stages and certainly many laughs together during the past three decades. With Pete on board, Smokie are looking forward to whatever new challenges this rollercoaster life of music brings.
