venue provides an attractive Art Deco interior which is transformed into an
intimate club-like setting with tables for up to four people. There is a separate bar area where a good range of beers (including non alcoholic), wines, ciders, G+Ts, soft drinks and snacks are served. Award-winning local caterer, Plenty of Thyme, offers a choice of four meal options at each event - food must be pre-booked (full details are emailed to ticket purchasers in advance of the event). Foakes Hall caters well for disabled visitors. Parking There is limited parking at Foakes Hall but plenty of free parking (after 6pm) within a very short walk in Chequers Lane (2 mins walk), Angel Lane (4 mins walk) or White Street (5 mins walk). |

@TheChurch events can accommodate full band set-ups and larger
audiences. The interior of the lovely old church is beautifully lit to create a special atmosphere. Seating is unallocated in pews and chairs. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase before the show and during the interval. No food is served. For disabled visitors, there are a couple of shallow steps to navigate. There are ground floor toilets in the nearby church office building. Parking Car parking is limited at the church and alternative parking is in the town centre so we encourage locals to walk where possible. A car park space in the church car park is available but only by pre-booking (via Eventbrite) for a small fee. This allows us to manage numbers. 100% of the fee is donated to funding musical equipment for Dunmow's secondary school. |
There is very limited parking at Foakes Hall, but there is plenty of free (after 5pm) parking within a very short walk:
Chequers Lane — 0.1m (2 mins walk)
Angel Lane — 0.2m (4 mins walk)
White Street — 0.3m (6 mins walk)
If you are travelling to Dunmow and need somewhere to stay, check out either the Travelodge Stansted, which is actually in Great Dunmow and 1.2 miles from Foakes Hall, or the Saracens Head which is no more than a 2 minute walk away.
