The
UK’s top Carpenters tribute act, The British Carpenters, sells out theatres
nationwide and comprises a group of hugely talented musicians with extensive
experience in the pop and theatre worlds.
Bringing to life all the hits including Close to You, Top of the World, Rainy Days and Mondays, Please Mr Postman, Goodbye to Love and many more, this will be a unique opportunity to experience an intimate gig in the stunning setting of Dunmow’s lovely old church, beautifully lit for the occasion. Sally Creedon as Karen Carpenter has been entertaining audiences worldwide with her band ‘Groovin High’, playing venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Birmingham Symphony Hall and the Guildhall and travelling to places like Mauritius and Cannes to sing on private yachts for members of the Saudi and Brunai royal families and celebrities such as Simon Cowell and Catherine Zeta-Jones, to name just a couple. With her jazz band, she has worked in many of London’s top venues, from Somerset House to Kensington Palace and plays regularly at the Ivy Club. Ryan Alex Farmery performs as Richard Carpenter and has a vast performing track record. He has worked, performed and toured with many in the pop world, from Rick Astley, Sophie Ellis Bextor to Beverley Knight and Gregory Porter. He plays keyboards in the West End, currently in Michael Jackson’s Thriller Live and previously on Broadway for the Beatles show Let It Be. A talented three-piece band support including drummer Gordy Marshall, who toured the world playing drums with The Moody Blues for 25 years. For six of those years, he also toured with Justin Hayward on the arena tours of Jeff Wayne’s musical version of The War of the Worlds. He now runs The Moody Blues tribute band GO NOW! which tours the UK, and in the US performs with symphony orchestras. As a session musician over the years, he has also worked and performed with artists including Sir Cliff Richard, Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Emma Bunton, Joss Stone, Gary Barlow, Leo Sayer, David Essex, Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs), Mike Batt, Katie Melua, Chris Spedding, Herbie Flowers, Russell Watson and Jason Donovan. |
