Eddi
Reader and her husband, John Douglas, are embarking on a new musical journey together this year. With their songs, voices, acoustic guitars and concertina, the duo of Eddi and John plan on making an album later in the year using only this stripped back format. A few summer dates in 2025 are the first taste of this collaboration, songs will be explored, honed and taken somewhere new. Both Eddi and John are excited to let their sound evolve in friendly, intimate live settings over the summer before heading to the recording studio to make the debut Eddi & John album. Please come along to this special show and get an early glimpse of what’s up ahead. |
Together,
The Grand Old Echo create their affectionately named 'City-Folk' sound -
witty and poignant story telling about life, death and everything in between,
delivered through triple harmonies and the occasional rap verse, all laid
over a variety of traditional folk instruments. Folk, Bluegrass and an Essex accent! |
Essex
born David Myers, aka ‘The Brother’s El Camino’, is clearly inspired by
American folk rock band, Dawes : ‘I hope your brother’s El Camino runs forever… and may all your favourite bands stay together’ (Dawes, All Your Favourite Bands). His work is categorised as gravelly, piano-led Americana with an urban construction. His latest album, First Light Dynamite, is described by review site Rocking Magpie, as a collection of ‘starkly beautiful songs… there is most definitely an audience just waiting with baited breath for music of such high quality.’ |
